Date: 2012-10-30 03:11 am (UTC)Okay mostly Jake thinks that Waver is SUPER GREAT AND AWESOME and sounds a little like him! Which is nice and makes Jake feel less totally alone vocally. Waver is also kind of a dingus tbh due to his freakouts over little thinks like shooting a toaster or killing a lion for dinner. Get with the times, my man.
Jake looks forward to kickin' it with Waver (and his PUPPY!!!!) a lot in the future and discovering what makes the guy tick. Jake knows that he and Waver obviously have very different backgrounds, so he's interested in seeing how deep that goes. A+ Waver.

He just recently put it into perspective that, oh wait, my life sounds equally inside and bizarre, just in a more sci-fi-meets-Tarzan kind of way. He likes that Jake is really earnest, polite and genuinely interested in him ad things he has to say, because Waver is used to being shunned, ignored, or having his own inferior complex crushing him. So being encouraged so much and appreciated from the first meeting on is kind of overwhelming but he really enjoys it. There's no judgement, either? He's a bookworm and a homebody and awkward, but Jake thinks he's cool AND IT'S A WHOLE LOT OF FFFF
Mostly because Jake lived by himself in a jungle, which to Waver sounds insane and he's amazed Jake has any social skills - or manners - period. He expected to see him running around gutting wildlife immediately, though shooting guns was... somehow fuss-worthy. Even if it made sense. BUT GUNS, GOOD LORD, HOW... AMERICAN
Also Jake is cool so he's like oh okay we can hang out maybe I'll pick some up by proxy...

Zombie personally can't really see past how awesome she is for sticking by Hanna through thick and thin to really form a personal opinion of her beyond that. She is just stuck at "awesome" on the awesome meter.
ZEX and Wendy should thread again because he wuvs her and has things to dish on gossipwise

Jake respects Hanna as a man who knows what he wants to do with his life, and is actively doing it! That takes guts and is awesome. Very positive first impression! Even though Hanna is kind of tiny and scrawny. Not a potential scrum partner at all.

No joke, she seems exactly like the sort of person he's missed most, in Camp, since some important people have left--namely, people who don't give much of a shit about propriety. That is straight up delightful. Plus she is really pretty. That def helps.

Date: 2012-11-04 08:48 pm (UTC)1) Dirk is a little taller! What the hell? Brobot was a little taller but Jake assumed that was due to combat training reasons. HOW ARE WE NOT THE SAME HEIGHT THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Even though it's just an inch or two it is still unexpected.
2) Dirk's hair is immobile in the breeze. Lol.
3) Dirk gets red from sun exposure reeeeeaaaally fast. What is even the deal with that.

1) Jake is not even a little put off by the fast-developed touchy-feeliness of their brotherhood.
2) He's not as oblivious as he seems at times? How do you pull it off. Aside from BEING JUST THAT BADLY OBLIVIOUS OTHER TIMES.
3) Hearing Jake's accent spoken aloud is just embarrassingly charming.
4) He has the decency not to run around the house naked all the time.
